Dr. Lindsay A. Powers was born in Tokyo, Japan, where she lived for five years before moving back to Peoria, Illinois with her family. Dr. Powers completed her undergraduate Bachelor of Science degree in biology at Indiana University in 2000, and she went on to receive her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine in 2006. She continued on to earn her master’s degree in periodontics at Saint Louis University in 2009. There, Dr. Powers participated in research involving gingival augmentation techniques and conducted research studying the neural pathways of dental pain, as well as the survival rates of dental implant therapy placed in a dental school setting (this was the subject of her master’s thesis).
Dr. Powers is specialized in comprehensive periodontal and dental implant therapy, including bone augmentation, sinus grafting, and advanced techniques in periodontal plastic surgery. She believes in a compassionate and collaborative approach to patient care.
Dr. Powers is a board-certified diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology.

Dr. Powers enjoys volunteer work and providing dental care to underserved patients. In the past, she had volunteered her time and skills for the benefit of the SIU Jamaica Dental Mission and Give Kids a Smile, and she hopes to resume the missions in the near future. She also provides periodontal therapy for our veterans as a staff periodontist at the James A. Lovell Federal Health Care Clinic in North Chicago.
Dr. Powers is married and recently relocated to a Northwestern suburb. She enjoys traveling with her husband and spending time with their cats, whom they fostered through Chicago Cat Rescue.
