Dr. Scott Frank, who operates North Shore Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, gave an in-depth presentation on the latest advancements in digital implant dentistry at Tesla Motors’ Highland Park location on Tuesday, Aug. 2 from 6 to 9 p.m. The event — “The Future is Now” — focused on the next generation of advanced technologies involved in implant dentistry and the impact they have on the practice and its patients, as well as how Tesla is working toward their mission of accelerating the world’s transition to sustainable transport.

“Tesla is on the cutting-edge of technology and automobile manufacturing, so the company is the perfect partner to host a night dedicated to innovation,” Dr. Frank said. “This was a great opportunity for dentists who want to expand their services to include dental implants.”

Dentists who completed the program received two hours of continuing education credit. Those dentists will also toured the Tesla showroom and test drove the newest Teslas. During the training, Dr. Frank covered how dentists can implement technology into their practice to place dental implants, which have become the superior method to replace missing teeth.

Dr. Frank offers single dental implants and can replace dentures with permanent, implant-supported teeth. Revita Smile® is a specific implant system that Dr. Frank uses to replace entire arches of missing teeth.

“Dental implants are the latest thing in dentistry when it comes to replacing missing teeth. They can transform an unhealthy mouth and eliminate the need for ill-fitting, removable dentures,” Dr. Frank said. “It’s great for your dental practice and great for your dental patients.”

At North Shore Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, 1411 McHenry Road, Ste. 127, Dr. Frank focuses on soft and hard tissue reconstructive surgery, which includes placing dental implants, smile makeovers, sinus bone grafting, regenerative bone grafting, traditional extractions and wisdom teeth extractions. His practice also offers IV sedation for patients with a fear of the dentist or for those who need multiple treatments in one visit.

Dr. Frank attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign College of Engineering and then earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery from Northwestern University. He completed his Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery residency at Howard University Hospital in Washington, D.C., a program that trained him in diagnosing and treating facial trauma, head and neck tumors, reconstruction of facial bony abnormalities, dental implant reconstruction with bone and tissue grafting, wisdom teeth and IV/general anesthesia.

In addition to having been in practice for more than 25 years, Dr. Frank trains dentists and surgeons across the country on advanced techniques for dental implant placement and restorations. He is the director of the Elite Dental Group, which holds a membership with the prestigious Seattle Study Club, one of the most elite dental education programs in the country.
